Larisa Gergieva is the artistic director of the of the Mariinsky Academy of Yong Singers,
general director Rimsky-Korsakov and Lisitsian Competitions, artistic director of the
summer academy (Finland) and artistic director of the Opera & Ballet Theatre in Vladikavkaz.
She has been decorated with many prestigious awards and diplomas at international
competitions.
She performs with famous singers from the Mariinsky Theatre and with her students
and soloists of the Mariinsky Academy of Yong Singers in the world’s leading venues
including Carnegie Hall, La Scala, Brussels Theatre Royal de la Monnaie, Grand Theatre
in Geneva, Colon in Buenos-Aires and Wigmor Hall in London.
She has toured numerous countries including the United States, Canada, Argentina, France,
Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Iceland, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Japan, Portugal, Germany, Finland,
Australia, China and Poland.
Regularly she teaches master classes on Russian vocal music in the United States,
the United Kingdom, Finland, Canada, Germany, Italy, France and Japan.
She has recorded 21 albums in Russia and with Philips Classics, EMI Classics,
Harmonium in Germany, Delos in the United States.
She is a jury member at numerous international competitions.
She has coached singers at the world’s top theaters including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala,
Covent Garden, Tokyo Opera, the Salzburg Festival, and at theaters San Francisco,
Florence and Paris.
During the 2006/2007 season she is scheduled to perform a cycle of vocal music by
Shostakovich in New York at Carnegie Hall and Wigmor Hall in London, as well as at theaters
in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Valencia, Peking,
New Zealand, and also concerts of vocal music with her students.
